Call to Worship  (Psalm 116:1)

Leader:  The Lord be with you.

People:  And with you also.

Leader:  I love the LORD,

People:  Because he has heard my voice and my supplications.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

I, poor sinner, confess to thee, O Almighty, eternal, merciful God and Father, that I have sinned.

I confess that I have often thought of myself first instead of others.  I have sometimes wanted what they have.  I have envied them.  I have gossiped about them and thought it nothing.  I have not always helped them when they needed help.  I was too busy or too insensitive to see their need.

I acknowledge in summary that I am the sinner that stands in need of forgiveness..

Therefore, I ask, I beg, you, O heavenly Father, to forgive me these and all my sins.  Keep and preserve me henceforth that I may walk only in your ways and live according to your will;   This, I ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, your dear Son, our Savior and Lord.  Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader:  The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Tim. 1:15).

People:  He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).
