Call to Worship  (Psalm 104:33,35)

Leader:  The Lord be with you.

People:  And with you also.

Leader:  I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live:

People:  I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

Leader:  Bless thou the LORD, O my soul.

People:  Praise the LORD.

Prayer of Adoration and Confession (from Psalm 104)

O Lord, You are clothed with majesty and glory; You cover yourself with light.  You have spread out the heavens before you.  You use the clouds as your chariot and ride on the wings of the wind.   You laid the foundations for the cosmos.  You brought order from the void.  Your guiding hand brought forth our beloved planet: the land and the seas, the mountains and the valleys.  You guided and directed and created, and life came forth--the whole, astounding variety of life: birds and fish, reptiles and snails, lions and leviathan.  Lord, we thank you and praise you.

But Lord, we confess that sometimes we are slow of belief.  We believe in your creation, but we are slow to believe in you, Lord Creator. In our slowness, we fear the puny works of people, and we ignore you,

Forgive us Lord,   Forgive us through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, our Savior.  Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader:  The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Tim. 1:15).

People:  He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).
