Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession: (in unison)

Merciful God, you pardon all who truly repent and turn to you. We humbly confess our sins and ask your mercy. We have not loved you with a pure heart, nor have we loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have not done justice, loved kindness, or walked humbly with you, our God.Have mercy on us, 0 God, in your loving-kindness. In your great compassion, cleanse us from our sin.Create in us a clean heart, 0 God, and renew a right spirit within us.Do not cast us from your presence, or take your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation and sustain us with your bountiful Spirit.This we pray through the only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior forever. Amen.

With genuine joy let us open our minds and hearts to God, and dedicate ourselves to being servants in the kingdom of God. There will be a joint meeting of Session and Diaconate tonight at 7:00 p.m. Dorcus Pratt is in Piedmont Medical. Willie Yarbrough has been released from the hospital and is in The Willows.We have also had special requests for prayer for Roy and Betty Adkins, Becky Moore, and Ann Connolly. Please remember these and all our other sick and shut-ins.

Leaf trip

We are going on a trip to see the leaves in the mountains on Saturday, October 21. Plan now to go with us.
