Call to Worship (Psalm 69:30)
Leader: The Lord be with you.
People: And with you also.
Leader: We will praise the name of God with a song;
People: We will magnify our God with thanksgiving.
Opening Prayer
Prayer of Confession (in unison)
Lord, if we speak with eloquence and sincerity, but do not have love, we are noisy gongs. If we are very serious and emphatic, but do not have love, we are clanging cymbals, even if we could speak with the language of angels, if our speaking is without love, we are still only a clanging noise. Sometimes, Lord, we admire our own intellect. We think that the more we know the greater we are, but knowledge without love is only arrogance. And we proclaim that faith is what it is all about, but faith without love is absurd. Or, we think it is about things. The more I have the better I am, so we think in our foolishness. But it is not about things, it is about love. Forgives us Lord, for our lack of love. Inspire us through your Holy Spirit to be your gentle loving people. In the blessed and holy name of Jesus, Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness
Leader: The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Tim. 1:15).
People: He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).
