Concerns of the Church

Call to Worship (John 13:34-35)

Leader: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Leader: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;

People: As I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Leader: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,

People: if ye have love one to another.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession: (in unison)

Holy and merciful God, in your presence, we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, 0 Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light, and walk in your ways. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, our Savior and Lord forever, Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness (Romans 8:38-39)

Leader: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,

People: Shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Amelia Johnson is our guest organist today. We welcome Amelia to our fellowship.

Bible Study begins Wednesday, September 5. This year we are studying Biblical prayer. Bible Study meets 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Youth Director

We are seeking a Youth Director. We are seeking an individual dedicated to serving Jesus Christ and infused with a passion for young people. The Youth Director will lead programs that will increase the participation of young people in the worship, Sabbath school, and fellowship activities of the Church. This person must have leadership qualities, be strong in Christian faith, and be willing to take youth on special retreats and outings.

Summerfest 2001

We had a great Summerfest fundraiser on August 25. We served around eight hundred folks, and made around $2500. This is more people than we have ever served, and the most money that we have ever made. It took many people working very hard to make this fundraiser happen. It took planning and preparation. It took setting up and cooking and fixing. Lastly, perhaps the most onerous job of them all. We had to tear it all down and put everything away. We extend heartfelt appreciation to those who helped in whatever way to in this splendid fundraiser.

Men's Fellowship

The York Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Men's Fellowship meets Sunday, September 16. This is an 8:00 a.m. breakfast meeting.
