Call to Worship (Revelation 4:8)

Leader:  The Lord be with you.

People:  And with you Also.

Leader:  "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,

People:  Who was and is and is to come!"

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Most holy and merciful Father; we acknowledge and confess before thee; our sinful nature prone to evil and slothful in good; and all our shortcomings and offenses.  Thou alone knowest how often we have sinned; In wandering from thy ways; In wasting thy gifts; In forgetting thy love.  But thou, O Lord, have mercy; upon us; Who are ashamed and sorry; for all wherein we have displeased thee.  Teach us to hate our errors; Cleanse us from our secret faults; And forgive our sins; For the sake of thy dear Son.  And O most holy and loving Father; Help us, we beseech thee; To live in thy light and walk in thy ways; According to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness (Psalm 103:8,10-12)

Leader:  The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.  He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

People:  For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us.

The psalmist said to God, “On the day I called, you answered me, you increased my strength of soul” (Psalm 138:3, NRSV). Let us seek the Lord today in order to have the strength of our souls increased. With joy and gratitude, we greet all who have come to worship. May each of us find our spirits refreshed and strengthened.

There will be a called meeting of the congregation next Sabbath following Morning Worship.  The purpose of this meeting is to elect two Ruling Elders.  The nominees are Larry Howe, Carroll Robinson, and Robert Connolly.  Members of the congregation can also nominate from the floor.
