Concerns of the Church

Call to Worship (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Leader: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,

People: Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Leader: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

People: Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession: (in unison)

God of our Fathers: you raised up brave and able women and men to reform the church.We confess that we have lost our way again, and need new reformation. We are content with easy religion, with too much money and too little charity.We cultivate indifference. Lord, let your word shake us up, And your Spirit renew us, So that we may repent, have better faith, and never shrink from sacrifice; In the name of Jesus Christ our only Lord and Savior. Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader: Who is to condemn? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. (Rom 8:34)

People: So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! (II Cor. 5:17)
