Call to Worship (Psalm 113:1)

Leader:  The Lord be with you.

People:  And with you also.

Leader:  Praise the LORD!

People:  Praise, O servants of the LORD; praise the name of the LORD.

Opening Prayer  (in Unison)

Almighty God, who art the protector of all who trust in thee, without whose grace nothing is strong, nothing is holy, increase and multiply upon us thy mercy, that by thy holy inspiration we may think the things that are right and by thy power may perform the same, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.  [Martin Luther, 1526]

Prayer of Confession (In Unison)

O God and Father most gracious and full of compassion, have mercy upon us in the name of thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. And as thou dost blot out our sins and stains, magnify and increase in us day by day the grace of thy Holy Spirit: that as we acknowledge our unrighteousness with all our heart, we may be moved by that sorrow which shall bring forth true repentance in us, mortifying all our sins and producing in us the fruits of righteousness and innocence which are pleasing unto thee; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [John Calvin, 1542]

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader: When we know we have done wrong, when we pour out our hearts, and bare our souls to God, and humbly trust that Christ can make us whole,

People:  Jesus says, "Your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you; go in peace.

Today is Reformation Sabbath.  We recall with gratitude the saints who led the reform of the Church.  We rejoice in the spiritual freedom we have by faith in Christ alone.  With joy in our hearts, we welcome all who have come to celebrate our victory through Christ our Lord.

Ruby Quinn, sister of Francis Nivens passed on to be with the Lord on October 20, 2007.  We rejoice in her victory through Jesus Christ.  Pray God’s comfort for her family...
