Call to Worship (Psalm 96:1-2
Leader: O sing unto the LORD a new song:
People: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
Leader: Sing unto the LORD, bless his name;
People: Show forth his salvation from day to day.
Prayer of Confession (in unison)
I poor sinner confess to thee, O Almighty, eternal, merciful God and Father, that I have sinned against thee and thy commandments. I confess that I have not kept thy Sabbath holy, that I have not heard thy holy Word with earnestness nor lived according to the same; moreover that I have not yielded myself fully to thy divine hand, nor rejoiced in thy work done in me and in others, but have often grumbled against it stoutly and have been impatient. Wherefore I beseech thee, O heavenly Father, that, thou wouldst graciously forgive me these and all my sins. Keep and preserve me henceforth that I may walk only in thy way and live according to thy will; and all of this through Jesus Christ, thy dear Son, our Savior. Amen. [Martin Bucer 1539]
Declaration of Forgiveness (Psalm 103:8,10-12)
Leader: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
People: For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us.

Some church calendars celebrate, January 13, as a day to remember the baptism of our Lord. By his being baptized, Jesus identified with sinners and rose from the water to begin his memorable ministry of grace and salvation. Thanks be to God! Let us welcome one another with gladness and joy, remembering Gods all-encompassing love in Christ our Lord.
Louise McDaniel has been transferred to White Oak Nursing Home. Sarah O'Farrell continues to have problems with her arm. Margaret Alice Haun had an MRI this week. Please remember these and all our sick and shut-ins in your prayers.
