Call to Worship  (Psalm 96:12-13)

Leader:  The Lord be with you.

People:  And with you also.

Leader: Let the field exult, and everything in it.

People:  Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD

Leader:  For he is coming, for he is coming to judge the earth.

People:  He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Righteous God,

You have crowned Jesus Christ as Lord of all.

We confess that we have not bowed before him.

We are slow to acknowledge his rule.

We are faithful to the wrong things.

We give allegiance to the powers of this world.

We fail to be governed by justice and love.

In your mercy, forgive us.

Raise us to acclaim him as ruler of all,

that we may be loyal ambassadors,

Obeying the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For it is in his name that we pray. Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader:  The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.  I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ; you are forgiven.

People:  May the God of mercy, who forgives us all our sins strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life.

Sincerely,

The Family of George Herbert Chambers, Jr.
