Concerns of the Church

Call to Worship (Romans 12:1-2)

Leader: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

People: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us.

But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore thou those who are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind In Christ Jesus our Lord.

And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness (Romans 8:38-39)

Leader: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,

People: Shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The prophet, Micah, asked the question "With what shall I come before the Lord?" He concluded that central to worship and serving God were the following: "To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). Let us vow to follow that formula as we glorify God and show our loving kindness to one another. Welcome in the name of the Lord.
