People: Again, I will say, Rejoice.
Leader: Let your gentleness be known to everyone.
People: The Lord is near.
Lighting of the Advent Candle
Prayer of Confession (in unison)
I poor sinner confess to thee, O Almighty, eternal, merciful God and Father, that I have sinned in manifold ways against thee and thy commandments. I confess that I have not believed in thee, my one God and Father, but have put my faith and trust more in creatures than in thee, my God and Creator, because I have feared them more than thee. And for their benefit and pleasure, I have done and left undone many things in disobedience to thee and thy commandments. Wherefore I beseech thee, O heavenly Father, that, thou wouldst graciously forgive me these and all my sins. Keep and preserve me henceforth that I may walk only in thy way and live according to thy will; and all of this through Jesus Christ, thy dear Son, our Savior. Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness
Leader: Who is to condemn? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. (Rom 8:34)
People: So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! (II Cor. 5:17)

Church Christmas Party
We will not have Bible Study next Wednesday, December 19. Instead, we will have the church Christmas party. The party begins at 7:00 p.m. We ask you to bring light refreshments. The young people will have the program. Yes, Santa Claus will be there
7:00 p.m. December 23, 2001.
Many people say this is the most beautiful service in the church all year. We invite you to come and worship the Lord of light.
