Call to Worship

L: The Lord be with you.

P: And with you also.

Opening Prayer

L: Let us not seek out of you what we can only find in you, O Lord,

P: Peace and rest, and joy and bliss, which abide only in your abiding joy.

L: Lift up our souls above the weary round of harassing thoughts to your eternal presence,

P: Lift up our minds to the pure, bright, serene atmosphere of your presence.

L: that we may breathe freely,

P: there repose in your love,

L: there be at rest from ourselves

P: and from all things that weary us:

L: and thence return, arrayed in your peace,

P: to do and to bear whatsoever shall best please you, O blessed Lord.

York’s Summerfest is on August 28.  Once again, we will be doing a fundraiser during Summerfest.  We need everyone’s help.  We need workers to set up, take down, and clean up.  We also need workers for every other aspect of this fundraiser.  There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex of the church if you would like to volunteer.  Further, we need donations of tea, Coke and Pepsi products, homemade cakes and pies.

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast is next Sabbath, August 15, 2004 at 8:00 a.m.
