Concerns of the Church

Call to Worship (I Timothy 3:16)

Leader: Christ was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels,

People: Proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Dear Heavenly Father, I want to participate in the Lord's Supper with a pure heart.  Therefore, I confess my sins before you.  I'm sorry for the times when I haven't turned to you.  I'm sorry for letting sins or other things come between us.  But most of all, I'm sorry that Jesus had to suffer for me.  But Father, I am thankful that Jesus loved me so much that he died for me.  I am in awe at the price Jesus had to pay so that I can approach you.  I praise him for what he has done, and I rejoice that he is my Lord and Savior, and that he will come again to claim me as his own.  Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Leader:  The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Timothy 1:15).

People:  He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).

On this World-Wide Communion Sabbath, we join with Christians around the earth to share in the Lord’s Supper. It is a joy to welcome all who are here. We encourage everyone to reach out in love to one another.

The Sacrament of Baptism

Debra Harris Gibby, Rebecca Carol Gibby, and Susan Elaine Gibby present themselves today for the sacrament of baptism.  The Session has met with Debbie, Carol, and Susan and has received them as communicant members of the church on condition of baptism.  Thus, they will be recognized as members of the church following their baptism today.  We welcome them to our fellowship.
